Flexible, personalized care for the weeks after birth, so you can heal, bond, and find your footing without doing it alone.
Who this is for
The fourth trimester is one of the most demanding seasons a person can move through, physically, emotionally, and logistically. Your body is recovering from one of the most significant events it has ever experienced, you're likely running on interrupted sleep, and you're suddenly responsible for a newborn who needs you constantly. This is not the time to figure it all out on your own.
Postpartum support is for any family navigating the transition into new parenthood, first-time parents, families growing by one more, parents managing a difficult birth recovery, and anyone whose postpartum experience doesn't match what they were told it would look like. You don't have to be struggling to deserve support. Sometimes the most valuable thing is simply having someone knowledgeable, calm, and consistent show up for you.
What to expect
Postpartum doula visits are not structured around a checklist. They're structured around what you need most on that particular day. Some visits look like troubleshooting feeding challenges and answering the questions your pediatrician doesn't have time for. Others look like holding the baby so you can shower, sleep for two hours, or have a meal with both hands. All of that is valid support.
I can help with newborn care education, safe handling, bathing, sleep cues, soothing techniques, so you build confidence quickly rather than relying on guesswork. Lactation support is woven into postpartum visits as needed: latch, positioning, supply questions, pumping logistics, and knowing when a referral to an IBCLC makes sense. If you're formula feeding or combination feeding, that's equally welcome here.
Emotional wellness is also part of every visit. The postpartum period brings a wide range of feelings, joy, grief, isolation, overwhelm, often all in the same afternoon. I notice how you're doing, not just how the baby is doing. If you need a referral to a therapist, a pelvic floor PT, or a local support group, I'll help you find the right fit.
Care philosophy
Postpartum care in the United States often gets treated as optional, something you do if you're lucky enough to have a strong family network, or wealthy enough to hire help. I don't believe that. Every family deserves a postpartum period that feels supported, not survived.
My approach is non-judgmental, client-led, and grounded in the understanding that there is no single right way to parent. Your feeding choices, your sleep arrangements, your recovery timeline, all of that is yours. My job is to give you accurate information, practical help, and the kind of steady presence that makes the learning curve feel less steep. Partners and other family members are always welcome in our visits.
